1. The SleepSight service should be considered a screening tool when being ordered directly by a parent. A signed medical order is required for this test to be considered diagnostic.
2. SleepSight maintains no responsibility for the willingness of a patient’s medical insurance to accept the results of a home sleep study as a basis of future treatment.
3. A patient’s medical insurance may or may not authorize coverage for sleep apnea treatment based on these results.
4. Although fully diagnostic and approved by the FDA for use in patients 12 and older, SleepSight sleep studies should be considered a screening tool. If sleep apnea is detected, patients should be directed to a sleep medicine provider for further evaluation.
5. SleepSight sleep practitioners will not provide peer-to-peer medical necessity claims.
6. SleepSight recommends any patient with a positive result from their sleep study schedule a consult with a board-certified sleep specialist and consider a confirmatory
PSG study.
7. SleepSight maintains no liability for device malfunctions.
8. Should a device malfunction occur that prevents the completion of a sleep study, SleepSight will provide an additional device / test at no cost to the patient or practice.
9. Ordering providers or parents should confirm the patient can set up the sleep study via a smartphone (i-phone or Android) prior to ordering the study.
